SF-based musician, Chiara Angelicola, played her final Bay Area performance last Tuesday at the DNA Lounge before heading off to New York to further build upon her music career. As usual, Chiara blew everyone away with her undeniable and unmistakable talent and presence. Check out some photos from the show…

Thomas and I spent the greater part of our Saturday today at Freewheel Bike Shop on Hayes, converting my Bridgestone T700 Touring Bike into a fixie/freewheel flip-flop conversion. Dustin @ Freewheel did the body work on the frame, and Thomas spent 5 hours at the shop replacing ALL of the other components…
I kept it relatively low budget, as this is still my “learning” bike to get more comfortable on the fixies before investing in a legitimate Japanese track frame, but I still dialed it in with some decent upgrades….Switched from the stock dropbars to some Japanese rise bars with some All City black and white starred grips…Opted for the Deep-V Velocity rims and Vittoria Randonneur tires…To pay homage to my favorite color scheme (black, white & pink), I got the pink Odyssey pedals that turn pink in the sunlight…Cadence straps…a SF Moma black and silver sparkled saddle, and a white Beetle Japanese light to finish.
Thomas put in some serious hours, and completed his first full conversion successfully! Also, huge thanks to Dustin and Travis @ Freewheel…they rock…bring your bike there.
Check out the pics…

Based in Amsterdam, illustrator Kustaa Saksi creates illustrations with a modern interpretation on psychedelic art of the 60’s and 70’s. From stamps, to book covers, to branding and domestic design, this artist is extremely prolific throughout Europe. He also has a published book of all his works called “Offpiste” that is definitely worth stacking on your coffee table.
Check out some of my favorites…

This surfer/photographer, Kassia Meador, is currently being featured at SF’s Mollusk Surf Shop Gallery. In fact, I have mulled over purchasing a print of this photo every weekend when Thomas and I pay our weekly visit to the Mollusk boys…
Kassia Meador is also currently showing at the Tribeca Grand in New York.
