Our favorite Bay Area (soon to be NYC) based DJ, DJ Morale (Tom Hamilton) released his latest mix, leaving us with all the glitches and beats we can handle before leaving us for the other coast in February. Click on the pic below to download his mix!
We love you, Tommy! You will be sorely missed, but I know you’ll kick ass out in NYC!
I googled Autumn de Wilde after ripping out several pages of her photos in Paper Magazine to put in my scrapbook of inspiration. I really enjoy her documentary-esque editorial style (not necessarily an oxymoron these days), and I particularly liked these “abstracts” I found on her website, as they reminded me of some of the photos I’ve been shooting around the city.
Here are some of the shots I took a couple weekends ago in the Mission that reminded me of de Wilde’s photos.
Thomas and I dove head-in to the SF Holiday season by going ice skating at the Union Square skating rink last night. San Francisco is pretty hard to beat during the holidays, especially downtown with all the amazing lights and decorations. I highly recommend going to the Union Square rink rather than the Embarcadero if youre looking to spend a night feeling like a giddy 5 year old (but buy your tickets online, so you dont get stuck waiting in line for two hours like we did).
Since I was a little girl, I remember seeing this guy around the city (usually in Union Square) playing the drums on buckets, pans, and anything else he could find that made the right noise when hit with a drumstick. He’s still around, and has expanded his resources. He was spotted at the Islands a few weeks back while we were shooting, and I thought I’d post a clip…
I’m in the process of working on a video project, shooting with the HD video feature with manual focus on my 5D Mark II camera. Here’s a clip that I shot on the way home from work the other night, riding the ferry across the bay.
I highly recommend watching it in High Quality with the sound off.
As much as I loathe the idea of waking up when the sun is still down, and spending a grand total of 3 hours out of my day commuting to and from the city for work, it’s pretty hard to complain about the view on nights like tonight. Aside from our Indian Summer warm weather we’ve been having, tonight I was lucky enough to catch the enormous moon rising behind the Bay Bridge. These photos dont do nearly enough justice to the immensity of the moon tonight, but I thought I’d post a couple shots anyway.
I recently started working as a travel agent for an amazing company called Airtreks based here in San Francisco. We specialize in booking customized around the world and complex international trips, and the company prides itself on strong business ethics and outstanding customer service.
We also have a blog which includes our Flickr site, featuring photography from travels around the world submitted by Airtreks employees and customers. Every Friday we feature 5 photos submitted by a photographer, and this week I got lucky!
Check out my pics, as well as the entire, impressive album, here!
SF-based musician, Chiara Angelicola, played her final Bay Area performance last Tuesday at the DNA Lounge before heading off to New York to further build upon her music career. As usual, Chiara blew everyone away with her undeniable and unmistakable talent and presence. Check out some photos from the show…
